Save Our Seeds is looking for a

Policy and Advocacy Manager

Save Our Seeds“ is a European initiative by the Foundation on Future Farming, to promote agroecological solutions and to critically assess the use of genetic engineering in agriculture and food.

Save Our Seeds is seeking a dynamic and versatile Policy and Advocacy Manager to spearhead our efforts on the forefront of synthetic biology, including but not limited to gene drives, artificial intelligence, and new genomic techniques. You would be acting as a bridge between local, national, and international policy-making bodies (including the EU and the UN Convention on Biodiversity) engaging with experts, politicians, and affected communities alike to shape strategic opportunities and drive impactful advocacy efforts. Ideally, you would find fulfillment in interacting with the general public and media in Germany and Europe.

We expect:

  • Creativity, commitment, and experience with effective advocacy campaigns
  • Experience in results-oriented and respectful international cooperation with other NGOs, associations and institutions
  • Ability to work well as part of a very small team, ability to work under pressure and goal-oriented perseverance
  • Background knowledge about genetic engineering and ecology preferred
  • The ability and willingness to publicly take a stand and explain complex topics and their implications to the wider public in a concise way
  • Familiar with digital media (Wordpress, social media, video etc.) and common software
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Good language skills and proficiency in written and spoken English; German and additional language skills would be an asset
